This is an ongoing project where I photograph discarded mattresses,the ones dumped on streets, shoved against fences, left to rot in empty lots. They’re ugly, stained, and forgotten, which is exactly why I’m drawn to them. A mattress is the most intimate object we own; it holds years of sleep, sex, tears, sickness, arguments, break-ups, everything… and then one day it’s tossed out like nothing.
